Pets and halloween!

It’s that time of the month again to get excited about costumes and candy! Dressing our pets up to look like a hot dog or donut can make for some great  memories, we just wanted to remind you of a few things. When getting a costume for your pet, make sure the costume fits them well and doesn’t hide their vision. For some pets, they can get scared easily if they hear a crinkle or strange noise and can’t see where it’s coming from. It would also be good to make sure the costume comes out a week or so before the holiday so they can be used to it and don’t become cautious of it, make sure they smell it and know it’s not a threat. Now when you find that perfect costume, make sure it also fits well, not too big and not too snug, what if your dog or cat gets snagged on something (maybe the costume tail) and they get nervous and try to run, you can bet that their heart rate will triple while they are trying to look for their escape route! That’s where that extra room in that costume will come into play, it will be wiggle room, not feeling suffocated.

And also make sure to check the link below for the candy or snacks that your pets may come across.. Gum, chocolate, raisins to name a few can be toxic.
